Stewarding Your Role, Even if It’s Temporary [TDPOW #126]

Devotional
Not every job is forever. Contracts end, seasons shift, roles change. You may see your current position as temporary—something you’re doing “for now” until something better comes along. The danger is to treat it carelessly, as if it doesn’t really count.
Paul reminds believers to lead the life the Lord has assigned to them. Even temporary roles are part of that assignment for this moment. God is not waiting to use you only in your dream job; He wants to use you right where you are today.
Stewarding a temporary role means taking it seriously, not because it will last forever, but because God is present in it. You ask, “What does faithfulness look like here and now?” When the season changes, you’ll be able to look back knowing you honored Him in the place He had you.

Do you view your current job as temporary, and if so, how has that affected your effort and attitude?
What might God be doing in you—and through you—in this present assignment?
How can you live more fully into what He has “assigned” to you today?
Prayer
Father, whether this role is long-term or short-term, I believe You’ve allowed me to be here. Help me steward it well. Show me how to honor You, serve others, and grow in this season, however long it lasts. Amen.
