The Broker as a Servant-Leader [Commercial Broker #56]

The Broker as a Servant-Leader [Commercial Broker #56]

Scripture: “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26 (ESV)

Devotional

Commercial real estate rewards visibility—being known, being connected, being impressive. But greatness in God’s Kingdom is measured differently: by how well you serve.

A servant-leader in brokerage thinks of others’ needs before their own: returning calls quickly, advocating for clients even when inconvenient, preparing thoroughly, and leading conversations with humility instead of ego. Servant-leaders don’t measure success by glory but by faithfulness.

Clients gravitate toward brokers who serve well. They remember integrity, patience, clear explanations, and genuine care far more than charisma or cleverness. Servant leadership builds long-term relationships, not just quick wins.

And serving others is not weakness—it’s Christlikeness.

Reflection Questions:

·       How can I intentionally serve my clients today rather than simply transact with them?

·       In what ways is God calling me to a humbler posture of leadership?

Prayer

Jesus, You came not to be served but to serve. Make me more like You in how I lead, care, and advocate for those You bring into my work. Amen.
