Scripture: “Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (ESV)
Devotional
In development, momentum is everything. Vision casting, planning, excitement—all of it matters. But projects are not built on words—they’re built on follow-through. The same is true in our spiritual life. 1 John 3:18 reminds us that love, and by extension integrity, is proven not in talk but in action.
Follow-through means doing what you said you’d do—even after the enthusiasm fades or the cost rises. It means honoring deadlines, returning calls, closing loops, and finishing well. It reflects reliability, consistency, and honor—all traits God values deeply.
Your credibility as a developer is tied closely to your follow-through. But more importantly, your witness as a Christian is magnified or diminished by whether your actions match your words. People may not remember every promise—but they will remember how consistently you kept them.
Let your follow-through be an act of worship. Let it declare that faithfulness isn’t just something you believe—it’s something you practice. And as you do, others will begin to trust not just your leadership, but the God who shapes it.
Reflection Questions:
Where have I overcommitted and underdelivered?
How can I strengthen my discipline to follow through in both big and small things?
What does it look like to finish strong today?
Prayer
Lord, help me to follow through on what I’ve committed. Let my actions reflect Your faithfulness. Teach me to finish what I start with diligence, consistency, and grace. Amen.
