Scripture
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” — Romans 12:15 (ESV)
Devotional
In a multitasking world, being fully present is rare—and powerful. When you give someone your full attention, you communicate worth. When you listen without distraction, you show honor. When you enter into someone’s joy or stress with empathy, you reflect Christ’s compassion.
Clients feel the difference between a broker who is technically in the conversation and one who is truly present. Presence creates trust. It deepens relationships. It allows you to understand not just the transaction, but the person behind it.
Being present requires slowing down internally—even in a fast-paced business. It means putting your phone face-down, asking thoughtful questions, and actually listening instead of waiting for your turn to speak. Your presence becomes a ministry of connection in a world full of hurried, transactional interactions.
Reflection Questions
Do I tend to be distracted or hurried during client interactions?
How can I cultivate a posture of presence in my daily rhythm?
Prayer
Jesus, You were fully present with every person You encountered. Help me reflect that same presence today. Slow my mind, open my ears, and make me attentive to those I serve. Amen.
