The Gift of Presence [Financial Advisor #192]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” — Romans 12:15.
Devotional
Sometimes the greatest service you can offer is simply being present.
Clients often face significant life transitions.
Retirement.
The loss of a loved one.
A business sale.
A major career change.
Financial decisions during these seasons are important, but so is having someone who listens, understands, and walks alongside them.
Our culture values productivity and efficiency.
God values people.
Jesus consistently demonstrated the ministry of presence. He slowed down. He listened. He entered into people's joys and sorrows.
As a financial advisor, you have opportunities to do the same.
Not every situation requires a solution.
Not every concern requires immediate advice.
Sometimes people simply need someone who genuinely cares.
When you are fully present, trust deepens.
Relationships strengthen.
People feel seen and valued.
And in those moments, you reflect the heart of Christ.
Never underestimate the impact of your presence.
Often it becomes one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.
Reflection Questions
• Am I fully present when meeting with clients and colleagues?
• Do I listen well to both facts and emotions?
• How can I demonstrate greater care for those I serve?
Action Step
During your next conversation, focus entirely on the other person without distractions or multitasking.
Prayer
Lord, help me slow down and be fully present with those around me. Use me to reflect Your compassion and care through attentive listening and genuine concern. Amen.
