Scripture: “You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.” — Leviticus 19:11 (ESV)
Devotional
Sales often hinges on how you represent your product, service, or solution. There is a constant temptation to present things in the “best possible light,” even if that means stretching the truth or omitting important realities. But God’s Word is clear: dealing falsely is not compatible with following Him.
Accurate representation means you present strengths honestly and limitations clearly. You don’t promise outcomes you cannot control, and you don’t minimize challenges a client should reasonably expect. You allow people to make informed decisions rather than manipulated ones.
This kind of integrity may cost short-term advantages, but it builds an unshakeable foundation of trust. Clients will recognize that you care about their best interest more than securing a sale at any cost.
In a world accustomed to fine print and hidden conditions, accurate representation becomes a powerful testimony of your allegiance to Christ.
Reflection Questions:
· Are there any parts of my pitch that lean more toward spin than truth?
· How can I better balance enthusiasm with accuracy?
· What would change if I refused to omit any material detail that could affect a client’s decision?
Prayer
Father, purify my communication. Help me represent everything I sell with honesty, clarity, and fairness. Let my words be trustworthy and my motives be pure before You. Amen.
