Scripture: “To obey is better than sacrifice.” — 1 Samuel 15:22 (ESV)
Devotional
Obedience is one of the purest expressions of integrity. It means submitting your decisions, actions, and desires to God’s will—even when it costs you personally. In real estate, obedience might look like refusing to work with a dishonest client, walking away from a lucrative deal that feels wrong, or speaking truth when silence would be easier.
Sacrifice is what you choose; obedience is what God asks. Sacrifice may be impressive to people, but obedience pleases God.
God’s instructions are not burdens—they are blessings. His boundaries protect your integrity, your peace, and your future. When you obey, you align your life with His favor and guidance.
There will be moments when obedience feels costly. But no act of obedience is ever wasted. God sees it, honors it, and uses it to shape you into someone who reflects Christ more deeply.
Reflection Questions:
· What area of my work requires obedience right now?
· Where have I been offering “sacrifice” instead of true obedience?
· How can I trust God more fully with the cost of obedience?
Prayer
Lord, give me a heart that chooses obedience over convenience. Help me follow Your voice with courage and trust Your purpose in every instruction. Amen.
