Scripture
“Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.” — Romans 15:2 (ESV)
Devotional
One of the sweetest rewards in commercial real estate is seeing clients flourish in spaces and decisions you helped them make—a thriving business in a new location, a stabilized asset performing well, a sale that set up a new chapter of life.
When you see that, pause and give thanks. You participated in something bigger than a closed file. You contributed to jobs, services, community development, and often the personal joy of people stepping into new seasons. This is part of what it means to “build up” your neighbor for their good.
Let that joy re-center you. Deals are not just numbers; they’re stories. You won’t always get to see the long arc of those stories, but when you do, receive it as encouragement from God: “Your work matters. Keep going.”
Ultimately, your joy isn’t in taking credit, but in seeing God use your efforts to bless others.
Reflection Questions
Can I name a few clients or projects where I’ve seen clear evidence of flourishing? How does that encourage me?
How might I intentionally celebrate clients’ milestones as part of my ministry to them?
Prayer
Father, thank You for the privilege of playing a small part in others’ flourishing. Help me rejoice in their success, give You the glory, and stay faithful in serving the next person You bring my way. Amen.
