Scripture: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Devotional Reflection

You may not think of your job as “ministry,” but encouragement is a ministry—and you’re in a unique position to offer it. Clients come to you not just for numbers, but for confidence. Behind financial questions are emotional needs: fear, doubt, weariness, confusion.

A well-timed word of hope, a moment of genuine affirmation, or a reminder of past progress can do more than stabilize a portfolio—it can strengthen a soul. Encouragement doesn’t require spiritual language to be Christlike. It simply requires presence, compassion, and intentionality.

Look for the client who needs more than strategy today. Look for the colleague who’s struggling behind the scenes. Ask God to make you a light of encouragement in a field often dominated by pressure and performance.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Who in your client base or workplace might need a word of encouragement today?

  2. What does it look like to weave genuine affirmation into your advisory conversations?

  3. How has God used others’ encouragement to sustain you in difficult seasons?

Prayer

Lord, make me an encourager. Help me see beyond spreadsheets to souls. Use my words to lift, strengthen, and point others to Your goodness.
