Scripture
“Look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:4 (ESV)
Devotional
Serving clients with excellence begins with paying attention—not just to the property details, but also to the people behind them. Many clients won’t verbalize what they need or fear, but careful attention reveals it. You notice their hesitation at a showing, their tone when discussing finances, their stress when deadlines approach.
Paying attention is a ministry. It means you see beyond the surface. You catch small emotional cues. You sense when someone needs reassurance or when they need space. You discern when they’re overwhelmed or confused and when they want more time to think.
Jesus was masterful at noticing—He saw the woman who touched His garment, the blind beggar others ignored, the fears in His disciples’ hearts, and the loneliness of the overlooked.
When you pay attention, you communicate value:“I see you. I hear you. You matter.”
This kind of attentiveness strengthens relationships, reduces client anxiety, and creates opportunities for deeper ministry and trust.
Reflection Questions
• Do I slow down enough to notice client emotions and needs?
• What situation today requires deeper attentiveness?
• How can I show clients that I genuinely care?
Prayer
Lord, help me pay attention to the people I serve. Give me eyes to notice their needs and ears to hear their concerns. Let my attentiveness reflect Your love. Amen.
