The Season You Are In Is Part of Your Calling [TDPOW #207]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
Devotional
Calling isn’t just about what you do—it’s also about when you do it. God works through seasons, each with different assignments, capacities, demands, and opportunities. What He calls you to in one season may not be what He calls you to in the next.
Some seasons are about growth—learning skills, gaining experience, receiving training. Others are about endurance—remaining faithful in a difficult place. Some are about fruitfulness—seeing real impact. Others are about transition—preparing you for something new. And some are hidden seasons—where God’s work in you outweighs the work He does through you.
Instead of resenting or rushing your season, you can ask, Lord, what is the purpose of this time? What are You shaping in me here? When you embrace your season with faith, you can be confident God is weaving it into your larger calling.
Seasons change—but His faithfulness does not.
Reflection Questions
How would you describe the season you’re currently in—growth, endurance, transition, fruitfulness, or something else?
What might God be forming in you during this time?
How can you cooperate with Him rather than resist the season you’re in?
Prayer
Father, help me recognize the season You have me in. Teach me to embrace Your purposes in this time and trust that every season is part of Your calling for my life. Amen.
