The Stewardship of Confidence [Financial Advisor #171]

Scripture

“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.” — 2 Corinthians 3:4.

Devotional

Confidence is essential in your profession.

Clients look to you for guidance during important decisions. They seek reassurance during uncertain times. They depend on your ability to provide thoughtful counsel and steady leadership.

But there is a difference between confidence and self-reliance.

Self-reliance places trust in your own abilities, experience, and knowledge. Biblical confidence begins with recognizing that every ability you possess comes from God.

Paul understood this distinction. Though highly educated and accomplished, he did not place his confidence in himself. His confidence was rooted in Christ.

This kind of confidence produces humility.

You can lead without arrogance.

You can speak with conviction without becoming prideful.

You can acknowledge limitations without becoming insecure.

When your confidence rests in God, you are free from the pressure of having all the answers.

You can trust Him to provide wisdom, guidance, and strength for every challenge.

The strongest confidence is not confidence in yourself.

It is confidence in the God who equips you.

Reflection Questions

• Where is my confidence primarily rooted?

• Do I tend toward insecurity or self-reliance?

• How can I place greater confidence in God's strength and wisdom?

Action Step

Identify one challenge that feels overwhelming and consciously place your confidence in God's ability rather than your own.

Prayer

Father, help me place my confidence in You. Strengthen me through Your wisdom and power, and keep me humble as I serve others. Amen.
