Scripture: “A gentle tongue is a tree of life.” — Proverbs 15:4 (ESV)
Devotional
Commercial real estate can reward aggression—forceful negotiation, hard pushes, and strong personalities. But Scripture teaches that gentleness is not weakness; it is controlled strength. Jesus Himself described His heart as “gentle and lowly,” yet no one influenced history more powerfully.
Gentleness shows up in how you handle difficult clients, tense negotiations, and frustrating delays. It shapes the tone of your emails, your phone calls, and your body language during meetings. People trust gentle leaders because they create safety and communicate respect, even in high-pressure situations.
Gentleness does not eliminate strong negotiation—it elevates it. It allows you to advocate forcefully while maintaining Christ-like character.
Reflection Questions:
· What situations lately have triggered frustration instead of gentleness?
· How would my leadership change if gentleness became my default posture?
Prayer
Jesus, teach me Your gentleness. Help me lead with strength that is disciplined by grace. Make my words and actions life-giving today. Amen
