The Weariness of Constant Change [TDPOW #67]

Scripture: Malachi 3:6 — “For I the Lord do not change…”

Devotional

Modern workplaces change constantly—restructuring, new systems, leadership turnover, shifting goals, evolving technology. While some change is good, the constant churn can be exhausting. You may feel like just as you adjust to one thing, three more things move.

In the middle of this instability, God’s unchanging character is a deep anchor. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His promises hold. His love doesn’t shift with market conditions. His wisdom isn’t outdated. When everything around you feels unsettled, you can rest in the One who does not change.

This doesn’t remove the difficulty of change, but it gives you a place to stand. Instead of clinging to old systems or fearing new ones, you cling to God. His steady presence helps you navigate transitions with peace and courage rather than panic.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What recent or upcoming changes at work are causing you stress or fatigue?

  2. How does God’s unchanging nature bring stability to your heart?

  3. What practical ways can you remind yourself of His constancy in seasons of transition?

Prayer

Unchanging God, thank You that You are steady when everything else shifts. Calm my heart in the midst of change. Help me adapt wisely while resting securely in who You are. Amen.
