Scripture
“To whom much is given, much will be required.” — Luke 12:48
Devotional
Accounting carries responsibility—often more than is immediately visible. Decisions made behind the scenes can impact organizations, employees, clients, and communities. This weight can feel significant at times.
Scripture acknowledges this reality. With greater responsibility comes greater accountability. But this is not meant to create fear—it is meant to bring clarity.
Your role matters. The trust placed in you is meaningful. God has positioned you in a place where your decisions influence others. That is not an accident—it is a calling.
Carrying responsibility well requires humility. It means recognizing the importance of your work without becoming overwhelmed by it. It means relying on God for strength and wisdom rather than trying to carry everything alone.
God does not expect you to be perfect. He calls you to be faithful. As you steward responsibility with integrity, you reflect His trustworthiness.
Today, embrace the weight of your role—not as a burden, but as an opportunity to serve.
Reflection Questions
• Where do I feel the weight of responsibility most in my work?
• Do I carry it in my own strength or rely on God?
• How can I steward responsibility with both diligence and trust?
Action Step
Take one area of responsibility that feels heavy and intentionally bring it to God in prayer before continuing your work.
Prayer
Lord, help me carry responsibility with humility and trust. Strengthen me to steward what You’ve given me with faithfulness and wisdom. Amen.
