The Wisdom of Many Counselors [TDPOW #208]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
Proverbs 15:22 — “Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Devotional
Discerning calling or career decisions can feel overwhelming. You may worry about choosing the wrong path or missing God’s will. God does guide personally, but He often leads through people—wise, godly counsel that brings clarity, correction, and confirmation.
Seeking counsel is not a sign of weakness; it’s a mark of humility. Wise advisers can help you see blind spots, test assumptions, and recognize patterns of gifting or desire you might overlook. They can also help you discern whether a new opportunity aligns with God’s character and your season of life.
Your counselors don’t need to be perfect or identical. A pastor, mature Christian friend, coworker, mentor, or even a seasoned professional can each offer insights from different angles. When their wisdom aligns and confirms what God is stirring in your heart, you can move forward with confidence.
Calling is rarely discerned alone. It grows in community.
