Trusting God with Unfinished Work [Real Estate Dev #145]

Scripture

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion…” — Philippians 1:6

Devotional

Development is filled with unfinished work. Projects unfold over years. Plans evolve gradually. Some goals remain incomplete far longer than expected. There are always unresolved details, future phases, and ongoing responsibilities waiting ahead.

This reality can quietly create restlessness. It is tempting to believe peace will finally come once every project is complete and every issue resolved. But leadership rarely works that way.

Philippians 1:6 offers an important reminder: God Himself is the One bringing His work to completion. Your responsibility is faithful stewardship, not carrying the impossible burden of finishing everything perfectly in your own strength.

Wise leadership learns how to work diligently while still resting in God’s sovereignty. It recognizes that some things require time, patience, and trust beyond your control.

Unfinished work is not necessarily failure. Sometimes God intentionally develops perseverance, humility, and dependence through long processes.

This applies spiritually as well. God is still shaping your character, leadership, and faith over time. You are a work in progress just as much as the projects you oversee.

Trusting God with unfinished work allows you to lead with greater peace and less striving. You can remain faithful today without being consumed by anxiety about every unresolved outcome.

God is not finished with your projects—or with you.

Reflection Questions

  • What unfinished work is currently creating stress or anxiety for me?

  • Am I trying to carry responsibilities that belong to God?

  • How can I lead faithfully while trusting God with the process?

Action Step

Take one unresolved situation or unfinished responsibility and intentionally surrender the outcome to God while continuing to steward your role faithfully.

Prayer

Father, help me trust You with unfinished work and unresolved outcomes. Teach me to lead faithfully while resting confidently in Your ongoing guidance and provision. Amen.
