Devotional
One of the greatest challenges in the legal profession is dealing with what you cannot control.
You can prepare thoroughly, communicate clearly, and work diligently—but outcomes still depend on factors beyond your influence. Judges, juries, opposing counsel, clients, timing, and unexpected developments all introduce uncertainty.
The temptation is to carry the weight of everything yourself.
But God never intended for you to bear responsibilities that belong to Him. Scripture invites you to cast your burdens on the Lord because He alone can sustain you fully.
Trusting God does not mean becoming passive or careless. It means faithfully doing your part while releasing the results into His hands.
This trust brings freedom. Freedom from constant anxiety. Freedom from feeling responsible for every outcome. Freedom to work diligently without becoming consumed by fear.
You are called to faithfulness, not absolute control.
God sees what you cannot see and works in ways you cannot always understand.

• What situation am I currently trying to control too tightly?
• How would trusting God more fully change my mindset?
Action Step
Identify one burden you have been carrying and intentionally surrender it to God in prayer today.

Father, help me release what I cannot control. Give me peace as I trust You with the outcomes and uncertainties I face. Amen.
