Scripture: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
Devotional
One of the hardest realities in healthcare is this: you cannot fix everything.
There will be patients you cannot heal, situations you cannot change, and outcomes that break your heart. These moments can feel heavy, especially when you care deeply about the people you serve.
But God never asked you to carry what only He can handle.
Your role is to serve, care, and act faithfully. God’s role is to bring healing, comfort, and restoration—sometimes in ways you cannot see or understand.
When you encounter what you cannot fix, you are invited to trust. Trust that God is present. Trust that He cares more than you do. Trust that He is working, even when outcomes are difficult.
This doesn’t remove the pain—but it anchors you in hope.
You are not failing when you cannot fix everything. You are human. And you are serving alongside a God who is still at work.
Release what you cannot carry—and rest in Him.
Reflection Questions:
• What situations are you currently struggling to “fix”?
• How can you surrender those to God today?
Action Step: Identify one situation you cannot control and intentionally release it to God in prayer today.
Prayer
Lord, I give You what I cannot fix. Help me to trust You in difficult outcomes and to rest in Your presence. Amen.
