Trusting God with Your Career Future [Banker #140]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3.
Devotional
Bankers spend significant time helping other people prepare for the future. Yet uncertainty about your own future can still create anxiety.
Will the next opportunity come? Will your role change? Will your organization remain stable? Will technology reshape your responsibilities? Will you eventually reach the career goals you have imagined?
Planning is wise, but certainty is impossible.
God invites you to commit your plans to Him.
That means working diligently while refusing to make career advancement your source of security. Develop your skills. Build relationships. Pursue opportunities. Prepare responsibly.
Then trust God with doors you cannot open yourself.
Some doors He opens may surprise you. Others you desperately want may remain closed. Looking backward, you may eventually discover that certain disappointments were actually protection or redirection.
Your career is not outside God's sovereignty.
He can use advancement, waiting, transition, success, and disappointment to accomplish His purposes within you.
Your future does not ultimately depend upon predicting every change correctly. It rests in the hands of the God who already knows what lies ahead.
Reflection Questions
• What concerns about my career future create the most anxiety?
• Am I pursuing advancement from faith or fear?
• What career plan do I need to surrender more fully to God?
Action Step
Name one specific career concern in prayer today and deliberately surrender the outcome to God.
Prayer
Father, I commit my career and future to You. Guide my decisions, open the right doors, close the wrong ones, and help me trust Your direction in every season. Amen.
