Truth in the Listing Presentation [Residential Broker #41]

Scripture: “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor.” — Ephesians 4:25 (ESV)

Devotional

Listing presentations can feel like high-pressure moments—you want to secure the listing, impress the sellers, and earn their trust. Yet the temptation in these moments is often subtle: exaggerate your buyer pool, inflate your marketing reach, or tell clients what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

But Scripture commands something better: speak the truth.

A Christian broker is called to honesty, even if it means losing the listing. When you communicate truthfully about pricing, timelines, competition, or the realities of the market, you honor God and protect the client from disappointment. Sellers may not like realistic pricing recommendations, but they will respect honesty far more than flattery.

Truth builds trust. Trust builds relationship. And relationship builds influence.

When you speak truth with clarity, kindness, and confidence, you reflect Christ’s heart for integrity and wisdom. You demonstrate that you value faithfulness more than favor and stewardship more than sales.

Let today’s presentation—whether formal or informal—be marked by truth that honors the Lord.

Reflection Questions:

·       Do I struggle with being fully truthful in listing conversations?

·       Which part of my presentation needs more clarity and honesty?

·       How can I prepare my heart to speak truth with grace?

Prayer

Lord, help me speak truth at all times, especially when the pressure to impress is strong. Give me wisdom, clarity, and courage to honor You in every listing conversation. Amen.
