Walking in the Spirit at Work [Sales Professional #180]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16 (ESV)
Devotional
Workplaces pull you in different directions—pride, impatience, competition, anger, fear. Left unchecked, these desires shape your responses. But Scripture offers a different way: walk by the Spirit.
Walking by the Spirit means moment-by-moment dependence on God. It looks like:
Listening for His nudges
Responding to His conviction
Allowing His fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control—to influence your tone and decisions
Bypassing impulsive reactions
Seeking His pleasure more than earthly rewards
As you walk by the Spirit, you become a living demonstration of Christ’s character in a world dominated by fleshly reactions. Your life becomes a quiet sermon—visible, compelling, and Spirit-empowered.
Reflection Questions
What situations trigger fleshly reactions in me at work?
How aware am I of the Spirit’s presence during my workday?
What would it look like to walk by the Spirit in today’s tasks?
Prayer
Holy Spirit, guide my steps today. Help me walk with You moment by moment, resisting the flesh and reflecting the character of Christ in every interaction. Amen.
