Walking in Truth in a World of Spin [Residential Broker #32]

Scripture: “Speak the truth to one another.” — Zechariah 8:16 (ESV)

Devotional

Real estate often involves “spin”—highlighting the attractive and minimizing the inconvenient. It’s tempting to soften realities, skip details, or use wording that feels technically true but practically misleading. Yet Scripture calls you not to partial truth, but whole truth.

Walking in truth means being honest with sellers about pricing, even if they resist. It means telling buyers the reality of market conditions, not what they want to hear. It means communicating clearly, not vaguely, about defects or contract risks. It means refusing to win business by misrepresenting your experience, results, or abilities.

Truth honors God. Spin may impress briefly, but truth builds trust eternally.

When you walk in truth, you create clarity where others create confusion. You bring confidence where others bring anxiety. You are a stabilizing presence—someone who can be counted on. And because truth is a fruit of the Spirit at work in you, it becomes a witness to clients who rarely encounter integrity so consistently in this field.

Let your honesty shine. God will use it to open doors you couldn’t create on your own.

Reflection Questions:

·       Where am I tempted to “spin” rather than speak plainly?

·       What listing or conversation needs more transparency from me?

·       How has truthfulness built my credibility in the past?

Prayer

Father, help me speak truthfully, clearly, and lovingly. Guard my heart from compromise and guide my words with Your Spirit. Make truth my standard in all things. Amen.
