When Integrity Costs You [Commercial Broker #17]

Scripture: “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.” — Proverbs 28:6 (ESV)

Devotional

There will be days when integrity feels costly:

• when you disclose something another broker might hide,

• when you refuse to misrepresent numbers,

• when you choose truth and lose a client,

• when you walk away from an unethical opportunity.

These moments sting. They may affect your income or momentum. But Scripture assures you that righteousness is always the better investment. God is not blind to sacrifice. He honors obedience, even when no one else sees.

Integrity may feel expensive in the short term, but compromise costs far more in the long term—your peace, your reputation, your witness, and your alignment with God.

Reflection Questions:

·       When has choosing integrity cost me something significant?

·       How did God care for me or grow me through that loss?

Prayer

Lord, help me stand firm when integrity costs me. Strengthen my resolve and remind me that obedience is always worth it. Amen.
