Scripture: “Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace.” — Zechariah 8:16 (ESV)
Devotional:
Sooner or later, you’ll face a moment where full honesty might cost you a sale: sharing a limitation, revealing a risk, clarifying terms that might cause hesitation. In that moment, you stand at a crossroads—protect the deal, or protect your integrity.
God’s Word doesn’t just suggest truth; it commands it. You are to speak truth in ways that make for peace—not just peace today, but long-term peace in the relationship and in your own conscience.
Losing a deal because you were honest is never a failure in God’s eyes. In fact, it may become a powerful testimony that sets you apart and opens future doors you can’t yet see. Truth builds real peace, while half-truths build hidden tension that will eventually surface.
Trust God enough to tell the truth, even when it feels risky.
Reflection Questions:
· Have I ever softened the truth to keep a client from hesitating?
· What situation right now may require courageous honesty from me?
· How does believing God is my provider free me to speak truthfully?
Prayer
Father, give me courage to tell the truth even when it seems costly. Help me value peace of conscience and Your approval above any single deal. Use my honesty to build real peace and lasting trust. Amen.
