When You Feel Behind [Financial Advisor #28]

Scripture: “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…” — Hebrews 12:1b–2a

Devotional

It’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind—behind your peers, behind your business goals, behind where you thought you'd be. The comparison trap is real in any profession, but especially in one driven by growth charts and quarterly metrics.

Hebrews reminds you that you’re running your own race, not someone else’s. The finish line is not a bigger firm or a larger portfolio—it’s faithfulness. And your pace is set not by market trends but by your Savior.

When you fix your eyes on Jesus, you stop chasing applause and start pursuing purpose. You find rest from the pressure to prove yourself. And you’re reminded that God doesn’t evaluate you by worldly metrics—but by obedience, integrity, and love.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Where do you feel “behind,” and how is that affecting your peace or motivation?

  2. Are there unhealthy comparisons influencing how you view your calling?

  3. What would it look like to run your race at God’s pace today?

Prayer

Jesus, fix my eyes on You. Free me from the burden of comparison and the fear of falling short. Remind me that my value is rooted in faithfulness, not performance.
