Scripture: “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV)
Devotional
In brokerage, visibility often seems to equal value. Some brokers get the spotlight, the awards, or the preferred referrals. You may feel hidden in comparison—faithful, but unnoticed. When that feeling lingers, resentment and discouragement can creep in.
But God is not limited to public recognition. He sees every late-night proposal you finish, every extra mile you walk for a client, every temptation you resist when no one else is watching. He values obedience more than applause. Promotion in His Kingdom doesn’t always look like public success; sometimes it looks like deep character formed in quiet seasons.
David was overlooked by his own family when Samuel came to anoint a king. Yet God saw his heart and chose him. Likewise, God sees you. Your faithfulness is never wasted, even if people don’t acknowledge it.
Reflection Questions:
· Where do I feel overlooked or undervalued right now?
· How can I shift my focus from seeking recognition to seeking faithfulness?
Prayer
Lord, when I feel unseen, remind me that You notice every act of obedience. Help me serve with joy, even in hidden places, trusting that You are my true rewarder. Amen.
