When You Lose a Major Deal [Sales Professional #75]

When You Lose a Major Deal [Sales Professional #75]

Scripture: “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” — Job 1:21 (ESV)

Devotional

Losing a major deal can feel like a punch in the gut. You invested time, effort, and hope, only to see it slip away. Disappointment, frustration, and even embarrassment may swirl in your heart.

Job’s words come from a place of extreme loss, yet they reveal a profound truth: God remains worthy of worship regardless of what He gives or takes. Your praise is not limited to seasons of success. It is most powerful when it rises from places of pain.

This doesn’t mean you ignore the disappointment. You can grieve honestly before God. But in that grief, you choose to anchor your hope not in one deal, but in the unchanging character of God—good, wise, and sovereign.

He sees your effort. He knows what you’ve lost. And He is still at work, often in ways you cannot yet see.

Reflection Questions:

·       How have I responded emotionally and spiritually after losing a big opportunity?

·       Do I believe God is still good and wise in this situation?

·       What might God be protecting or preparing me for through this loss?

Prayer

Father, You know how disappointed I am. I bring my frustration and sadness to You. Help me bless Your name even in this loss and trust that You are still working for my good and Your glory. Amen.
