When You’re Blamed Unfairly [Sales Professional #152]

Scripture

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.” — Romans 12:14 (ESV)

Devotional

Being blamed for something you didn’t do—whether a dropped ball, a client misunderstanding, or an internal failure—can feel infuriating. Everything in you may want to defend yourself harshly or retaliate. But Scripture calls you to something radically different: bless, even when you are mistreated.

Blessing doesn’t mean accepting false guilt. You can still clarify the truth respectfully. But it does mean guarding your heart from bitterness and refusing to repay hurt with hurt. Blessing your accuser means praying for them, speaking respectfully, and trusting God with your vindication.

Jesus was falsely accused repeatedly. He entrusted Himself to the Father who judges justly. You can do the same. God sees truth perfectly—and He will deal with the injustice in His time.

Reflection Questions

How do I typically react when I’m unfairly blamed?

How can I correct false information without dishonoring Christ?

What does it look like to “bless” someone who has wronged me?

Prayer

Lord, help me respond with grace when I’m blamed unjustly. Guard my heart from anger and bitterness. Teach me to bless, not curse, and to trust You with my reputation. Amen.
