Wisdom for Every Season [Financial Advisors #4]

Scripture: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” — James 1:5

Devotional

Advising others requires constant discernment. What worked last year may not apply today. Market dynamics shift. Client needs evolve. Regulations change. Yet amid all this, God offers something that never expires: wisdom from above.

Scripture doesn’t promise we’ll always know what to do, but it does promise that wisdom is available to those who seek it. The invitation is simple—ask. Not once, but continually. Whether crafting a long-term strategy, helping a family navigate loss, or calming a fearful investor, you need something more than technical knowledge. You need spiritual clarity, relational discernment, and God’s insight.

Financial wisdom isn’t just about insight—it’s about character. Are you patient when others panic? Are you willing to say “I don’t know” when humility demands it? Are you prayerful before giving counsel? God’s wisdom is always accessible, but it’s also anchored in dependence.

Reflection Questions:

  1. When was the last time you sought God’s wisdom for a work decision?

  2. Are there areas where you’ve relied more on expertise than on prayer?

  3. What practices can help you create space to seek divine wisdom in your planning?

Prayer

God, I confess that I often lean on my own understanding. Teach me to seek Your wisdom first. Grant me clarity, humility, and discernment in every decision I face.
