Wisdom in Seeing Beyond the Financials [Commercial Broker #154]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“For the Lord sees not as man sees.” — 1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV)
Devotional
Financials matter—cash flow, IRR, NOI, CAP, TI budgets, and leverage. But wise deal-making sees more than numbers. You look at the leadership of the business, the mission of the tenant, the stability of the landlord, the integrity of the partners, the long-term viability of the area, and the spiritual and ethical impact of the deal.
Sometimes a deal looks strong on paper but is built on weak foundations—unhealthy partnerships, unrealistic business plans, or people lacking character. Other times a modest deal carries profound long-term Kingdom impact.
God sees beyond what man sees. As His ambassador, you can prayerfully ask:“Lord, what is beneath the surface here?”“Is this deal aligned with truth and righteousness?”“Is there anything that looks good financially but is unhealthy spiritually or relationally?”
Wisdom integrates financial insight with spiritual discernment. You’re not just evaluating deals—you’re evaluating fruit.
