Wisdom Rooted in the Fear of the Lord [Commercial Broker #150]
Listen to today's devotional:
Scripture
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” — Proverbs 9:10 (ESV)
Devotional
You’ve considered many aspects of excellence, service, and discernment. But Scripture is clear: true wisdom begins in one place—the fear of the Lord. That doesn’t mean cowering in terror; it means a deep, reverent awe of who God is, a recognition that He is holy, sovereign, just, and merciful.
When you fear the Lord, every decision shifts. You are more concerned with His approval than with winning a deal. You’re more afraid of grieving Him than of losing income. You’re more eager to honor His standards than to conform to industry norms. That posture opens the door for real wisdom—because you are now aligned with reality as God defines it.
Knowledge of the Holy One is insight. The more clearly you see Him, the more clearly you’ll see your work, your clients, your deals, and your own heart. Wisdom is not a set of techniques; it’s the overflow of a life rooted in worship.
Let the fear of the Lord be the foundation under every deal you touch.

How can I deepen my knowledge of God so that my decisions flow more from worship than from pressure?
Prayer
Holy God, let a right fear and awe of You shape everything I do. Draw me into deeper knowledge of who You are, and let true wisdom flow from that place into every decision I make. Amen.
