Scripture: Mark 10:45 — “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…”

Devotional

Jesus—the King of kings—came as a servant. He washed feet, healed the broken, fed the hungry, and gave His life. If anyone deserved to be served, it was Him. Yet He chose service as the pattern for His life and ministry. This transforms how we view work.

Work is not just about achieving, producing, or advancing. It is about serving. Every role, no matter how high or low it appears, is an opportunity to serve others in Jesus’ name. You serve when you answer questions patiently, solve problems with kindness, advocate for fairness, lead with humility, or simply show up reliably.

When you embrace a servant-hearted mindset at work, you begin to reflect Christ in powerful ways. Your job becomes less about what you can get and more about what you can give. That shift turns ordinary work into a living testimony of the gospel.

Reflection Questions:

1. How can you reflect Jesus’ servant heart in your specific role today?

2. Are there ways pride or self-interest sometimes shape how you approach your work?

3. Who is one person you can intentionally serve at work this week?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for serving me first. Teach me to serve others in my work like You did—with humility, love, and sacrifice. Let my attitude reflect Your heart. Amen.

This devotional is intended to help you integrate your faith into your daily work and calling. It is not a substitute for personal time with God in Scripture, prayer, and worship, which are essential for knowing Christ, loving Him deeply, and becoming more like Him.
