Working from Rest, Not Burnout [Sales Professional #24]

Scripture: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

Devotional

Sales can push you to constant activity—more calls, more meetings, more follow-ups, more hustle. But Jesus offers a different rhythm: working from rest, not toward it.

Burnout forms when you carry burdens God never asked you to carry: responsibility for outcomes, pressure to perform, or fear of failure. Jesus invites you to bring those burdens to Him.

Rest doesn’t mean inactivity; it means renewed strength. Rest means working with a peaceful heart instead of a frantic one. Rest means trusting God with what you cannot control.

When your soul is rested, your work becomes more effective, your decisions become clearer, and your witness becomes stronger. You were not designed to grind endlessly—you were designed to walk with Jesus.

Reflection Questions:

·       Am I working from rest or from exhaustion?

·       What burdens do I need to lay at the feet of Jesus?

·       How can I build rhythms of spiritual rest into my week?

Prayer

Jesus, I bring You my weariness. Restore my soul and steady my heart. Teach me to work from Your rest and rely on Your strength in every part of my day. Amen.
