Scripture: Micah 6:8 — “He has told you, O man, what is good… to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Devotional
Some workplaces are marked by unethical practices—deception, exploitation, cutting corners, or unjust treatment of employees and customers. When you’re surrounded by this, it can be hard to know how to respond. Do you speak up? Stay silent? Leave? Stay?
God calls His people to a different path: to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with Him. That means you cannot simply blend into unethical patterns. You are called to be truthful where others lie, fair where others exploit, and compassionate where others are harsh.
Sometimes that will mean quietly doing what is right in your sphere of influence. Sometimes it will mean respectfully raising concerns. In other cases, it may eventually mean leaving if participation would require outright compromise. There is no easy formula—but God promises to give wisdom to those who seek Him.
Reflection Questions:
Are there unethical patterns, spoken or unspoken, in your workplace?
How have you responded so far—with silence, compromise, or quiet faithfulness?
What step of justice, kindness, or humble obedience might God be asking of you?
Prayer
Lord, You love justice and truth. Give me wisdom and courage to honor You in an unethical culture. Show me when to speak, how to act, and when to stay or go. Help me do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with You. Amen.
