Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:31 — “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Devotional
Paul takes two of the most basic activities—eating and drinking—and says they can be done “to the glory of God.” If something as ordinary as a meal can glorify Him, so can the everyday tasks of your work.
Answering emails, cleaning equipment, updating spreadsheets, folding laundry, stocking shelves, changing diapers, caring for patients, balancing budgets—none of these seem “spiritual,” yet all of them can be. What makes them worship is not the task itself, but the heart behind it. When done in love, with integrity, and in dependence on God, ordinary work becomes sacred.
You don’t have to wait for big opportunities to glorify God. The way you handle today’s routine is one of the clearest reflections of what you truly believe. In His hands, nothing is wasted—not even the small things.
Reflection Questions:
What “ordinary” parts of your work do you tend to see as insignificant?
How could you practice doing those tasks “to the glory of God”?
What would change if you believed there are no “throwaway” moments in your workday?
Prayer
Father, help me see the ordinary parts of my work the way You do. Teach me to glorify You in small tasks as well as big ones. Let my whole day become an offering of worship to You. Amen.
