Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7 — “…casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
Devotional
Work can stir up many anxieties—job security, performance reviews, looming deadlines, changing markets, difficult coworkers, or financial pressures. These worries can follow you home, keep you up at night, and drain your joy.
God doesn’t tell you to pretend you’re not anxious. Instead, He invites you to cast your anxieties on Him—to intentionally hand them over, one by one, because He cares for you. This is not a one-time action, but an ongoing posture. As new worries arise, you bring them back to Him again and again.
Casting your anxieties on God doesn’t mean you stop being responsible; it means you stop believing you’re alone and in control of everything. He is your Shepherd, your Provider, and your Defender. You can take wise action and make thoughtful plans, but ultimately you rest in His care.
Reflection Questions:
What specific work-related anxieties are weighing on you right now?
How can you practically “cast” those anxieties on God today?
What truths about God’s character (His care, power, wisdom) can you cling to in this season?
Prayer
Father, You know the worries I carry about my work. I give them to You now—one by one. Remind me that You care for me, that You are in control, and that I can trust You with my future. Amen.
