You Are More Than Your Performance [Healthcare Professional #24]

You Are More Than Your Performance [Healthcare Professional #24]

Scripture: “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?” — Galatians 1:10 (ESV)

Devotional

Healthcare can be performance-driven. Metrics, outcomes, evaluations, and expectations can shape how you view yourself. It’s easy to tie your identity to how well you perform.

But your identity is not found in your performance.

It is found in Christ.

You are not defined by a successful procedure or a difficult outcome. You are not defined by recognition or criticism. You are defined by who God says you are—His child, called and valued.

When your identity is rooted in performance, your peace will rise and fall with your results. But when your identity is rooted in Christ, you can work with confidence and freedom.

You are free to do your best without being controlled by the outcome.

Your worth is not earned—it is given.

Let that truth anchor you today.

Reflection Questions:

• Do you tend to tie your identity to your performance?

• How would your work change if your identity was fully rooted in Christ?

Action Step: When you feel pressure today, remind yourself: “My identity is in Christ, not my performance.”

Prayer

God, help me to find my identity in You, not in my work. Give me freedom to serve without fear or pressure. Amen.
