Scripture: Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”
Devotional
You were created on purpose and for a purpose. God’s intention for your life includes doing good through the work of your hands, mind, and heart. This means your job is not random. Your skills, experiences, passions, and opportunities are handwoven by God to equip you for meaningful contribution.
Purpose is not found in a specific task but in the One who assigns it. A person sweeping floors with love honors God just as much as someone leading a company with integrity. The difference is not the size of the assignment but the posture of the heart.
When you embrace God’s purpose for work, you stop chasing validation from people and start seeking faithfulness to God. Your work becomes a platform for good works prepared in advance for you—acts of kindness, moments of excellence, displays of integrity, opportunities for service, and conversations that point people to Christ.
Reflection Questions:
What aspects of your work feel most purposeful and why?
Where might God be calling you to bring “good works” into your workplace?
How would your day change if you viewed every assignment as God-prepared?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me walk in the good works You prepared for me today. Use my life and my labor to glorify You. Amen.
