Scripture: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23 (ESV)
Devotional
It’s easy to divide life into categories—work and worship, business and faith. But Scripture makes no such distinction. Your work in banking is not separate from your faith; it is one of the primary ways you live it out.
Every task—reviewing financial statements, answering emails, processing transactions, meeting with clients—can become an act of worship when done with the right heart. Worship isn’t limited to singing in church; it’s expressed in excellence, integrity, and faithfulness in the everyday.
This means your attention to detail matters. Your honesty matters. Your patience with a difficult client matters. Even the unseen tasks—those no one applauds—matter deeply to God.
When you approach your work as worship, it changes your motivation. You’re no longer working merely for performance reviews, bonuses, or recognition. You’re working for the Lord Himself.
This perspective also brings peace. You don’t have to carry the weight of proving yourself. Your role is not to achieve perfection but to offer your work faithfully as an act of devotion.
Today, let your work become worship—not by changing what you do, but by changing why you do it.
Reflection Questions:
• What parts of my work do I struggle to see as meaningful?
• How would my attitude shift if I viewed every task as worship?
• Where am I working for people’s approval instead of God’s?
Action Step: Choose one routine task today and intentionally do it with excellence as an offering to God.
Prayer
Father, teach me to work with a heart that honors You. Help me see every task as an opportunity to worship. May my work reflect Your excellence and faithfulness. Amen.
