Order in the Midst of Chaos [TDPOW #20]

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:33 — “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”

Devotional

From the opening verses of Genesis, we see God bringing order out of chaos—separating light from darkness, land from sea, day from night. Order is part of His nature. When you bring clarity, organization, and structure to your work, you mirror the God of order.

Modern workplaces often feel chaotic: shifting priorities, overflowing inboxes, urgent deadlines, constant messages. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet in the middle of this, God can use you as a stabilizing presence. When you plan wisely, communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and help others make sense of complexity, you reflect His peace.

Bringing order doesn’t mean controlling everything; it means stewarding what you can influence. It means choosing intentionality over drift and clarity over confusion.

Reflection Questions:

1. Where is there confusion or disorganization in your work that you could help bring order to?

2. How can your planning, systems, or communication reflect God’s character of peace?

3. What one practical step could you take today to bring more order into your responsibilities?

Prayer

God of peace, help me bring order where there is confusion. Give me wisdom to plan well, communicate clearly, and work in a way that reflects Your calm and stability. Amen.

This devotional is intended to help you integrate your faith into your daily work and calling. It is not a substitute for personal time with God in Scripture, prayer, and worship, which are essential for knowing Christ, loving Him deeply, and becoming more like Him.
