When Markets Shake, Stand Firm [Financial Advisors #7]

Scripture: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” — Psalm 20:7

Devotional

Market volatility can rattle even the most seasoned financial advisor. Clients worry, portfolios drop, and the pressure to “fix it” looms heavy. But Scripture offers a better anchor. We are not called to trust in systems, strategies, or markets. We are called to trust in the unchanging character of God.

This doesn’t mean ignoring risk management or sound strategy. It means remembering who is ultimately in control. When fear rises, you are positioned to be a calming voice—not because you know what will happen, but because you know Who holds the future.

Your faith can steady others. When you remain prayerful, honest, and composed in the face of uncertainty, you reflect the peace of Christ. You remind clients that their hope is not in charts, indexes, or predictions—but in a faithful God who provides in every season.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do you personally respond when markets become volatile?

  2. What truths can you speak over your own heart—and your clients’—during economic uncertainty?

  3. Are there ways you can proactively disciple clients toward greater trust in God?

Prayer

God, in seasons of uncertainty, help me anchor my heart in You. Let my counsel bring peace, not panic. Use me to model trust and faithfulness in the midst of fluctuation.
