Scripture: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3)
Reflection:
When we invite God to take the lead in our work, He becomes the ultimate CEO—guiding, directing, and aligning our efforts with His purposes. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to commit our plans to Him, trusting that He will bring clarity and success according to His will.
This commitment requires humility and faith. As humans, we often try to control every aspect of our work, striving for outcomes that align with our personal goals. But when we acknowledge God as the head of our business or profession, we shift our focus from self-centered ambitions to kingdom-driven purposes.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of individuals who partnered with God in their work. Joseph, for instance, rose to prominence in Egypt by trusting God’s guidance, even in difficult circumstances. His success was a result of his faithfulness and reliance on God’s leadership.
By letting God lead, we experience peace and confidence, knowing that He has a perfect plan for our work. This partnership transforms our efforts into meaningful contributions to His kingdom.
Application Question / Challenge:
What areas of your work are you holding onto instead of committing to God? Take a moment to surrender those areas to Him in prayer.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the ultimate leader of my work. Teach me to commit my plans to You and trust Your guidance. Help me to align my efforts with Your purposes and to follow Your direction in all that I do. Amen.
