Trusting God in Rest

Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

Reflection: Resting requires trust. Psalm 46:10 invites us to be still and recognize God’s sovereignty, reminding us that He is in control even when we pause from our efforts. This stillness is not idleness—it’s an act of faith.

In a culture that glorifies busyness, it’s tempting to equate rest with laziness. Yet, God calls us to step back, trusting Him to sustain us and accomplish what we cannot. Rest is a declaration that He is our provider, not our own efforts.

When we rest, we realign our focus. Instead of striving, we surrender, acknowledging that God is greater than our worries and to-do lists. This trust allows us to experience His peace and to approach our work with renewed energy.

Trusting God in rest doesn’t mean neglecting responsibilities—it means relying on His strength to carry us through them. As we practice stillness, we deepen our dependence on Him and discover the joy of His presence.
