Integrity Above Income [Sales Professional #5]

Scripture: “The integrity of the upright guides them.” — Proverbs 11:3 (ESV)

Devotional

Few professions face ethical pressure like sales. There are constant temptations: exaggerate benefits, hide weaknesses, overpromise, minimize risks, or push a client into a decision they aren’t ready to make. These shortcuts may produce short-term wins, but they destroy long-term credibility—and they grieve the Lord.

Integrity is not optional for the Christian salesperson—it is your witness. It is also your competitive advantage. Clients remember honesty. They return to those they trust. They refer people to those who treated them fairly.

Integrity may cost you a sale today, but it will never cost you God’s favor. Income rises and falls, but integrity is eternal. When you choose truth over tactics, the Lord Himself becomes your provider.

Sales conducted with honesty reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to God in a profession where integrity often shines the brightest.

Reflection Questions:

·       What integrity challenges do I face most often in my sales role?

·       How can I prepare myself to choose honesty when pressure rises?

·       What does a “fully transparent” sales approach look like for me?

Prayer

God, keep my heart anchored to truth. Give me courage to be honest even when it costs me. Let integrity guide every conversation, every proposal, and every decision. I want my work to honor You. Amen.
