Trusting God with Your Clients [Financial Advisor #11]

Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Devotional

In financial advising, you’re expected to be the expert—to have answers, strategies, and insight. But behind every client question lies a spiritual tension: who is really in control? The weight of stewardship can become overwhelming if you bear it alone. That’s why this Proverb is a daily invitation—to transfer the trust from yourself to the Lord.

Trust doesn’t mean disengagement. It means faithful action without fearful striving. You prepare thoroughly. You advise wisely. But you entrust outcomes to the One who sees beyond balance sheets and timelines. Every client is ultimately God’s, not yours.

Some clients will follow your counsel; others won’t. Some plans will flourish; others may falter. But your peace doesn’t depend on outcomes—it depends on faithfulness. Your job is not to play God, but to serve under His authority with confidence and humility.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Are there client situations where you’re carrying more weight than God has asked you to?

  2. How can you daily submit your client relationships to the Lord?

  3. What might change in your posture if you truly trusted God with your business outcomes?

Prayer

Lord, remind me that I am not the savior of my clients’ futures—You are. Help me walk in wisdom and surrender, trusting You to guide every decision and every relationship.

This devotional is designed to encourage you as you live out your faith in the workplace. It works best when paired with regular time in Scripture, prayer, and worship—the rhythms through which we grow to know Christ more deeply and become more like Him.
